A typical old village of the “Puisaye” region lying on the “Briare” canal.

This picturesque village still holds traces of the Gallo-roman period and is proud of its 12th century church and 16th-century timber house.

The church Saint Martin, in the heart of the village, is built on a steep slope on a meander of the Trézée valley which the canal follows between the Loire and the Seine. In pure Gothic style, the slender columns with their oak-leaf and water-leaf capitals stand as a reminder of the “Puisaye” forest.

The contrast offered by the painted stone-sculptured altarpiece and 12th-century throne should be noted (can not be visited)
