This is a project that involves connecting all regions along the Loire. Over 800 km of cycle routes will open between Cuffy (in Cher) and St Brevin-les-Pins (in the Loire-Atlantique) for a unique discovery of the Loire and its valley, World Heritage Site UNESCO in 2000.
At European level, "Loire à vélo" is part of the future European Rivers Cycle Route between Nantes and Budapest (2,400 km)
On the course, bike paths alternate with little roads and paths, to move closer to the attractions on the Loire Valley. The route is known sometimes diverge a moment of the Loire for a foray into the interior to determine both the local sights that large monuments and heritage treasures, like the lock Mantelot near Chatillon sur Loire the famous Pont Canal Briare and the castle of Gien. For your convenience, the route is signposted in both directions.
The route is made by sections
Beaulieu sur Loire – Briare : 13 km
Departure : parking lot of the rest area of the channel at the entrance of Beaulieu, along the D926.
The route takes you through the Loire towards Bonny-sur-Loire before you discover the panorama of Ousson-sur-Loire, which has inspired many painters. Then you will follow the old canal which leads to Pont Canal of Briare and Historical Monument.
Briare – Sully sur Loire : 42 km
Departure : Parking Place de la République
This route takes you through the villages of St Firmin/L. St Brisson/L, St Martin/O for an arrival on Gien and its castle.
Also on the left bank you continue to the villages of Poilly-lez-Gien and St Gondon to get Sully sur Loire.

The “Jacques Cœur” road was created in 1954, inspired by the owners of three “Chateaux” : Culan, Ainay-le-Vieil and Meillant. Originally entitled the "Heart of France Châteaux Route", the oldest Historic Route in France offered visits and tours as well as night-time events and illuminations at these historic sites, setting the style for the future.
Over the last 56 years the “Jacques Cœur” road has continued to develop and innovate and offers a marvellous visitor experience. Half a century after its inception, its membership has multiplied and the Route now includes 16 historic sites
The “Jacques Cœur” road invites visitors to play in looking at what sites are owned by the 16 objects presented on entry. A random drawing from all correct answers will allow the winners to win stays unusual. In addition, a pass J”acques Coeur” privilege allows the holder to receive a discount in more than 25 sites and tourist towns of Berry for a year. The purchase of this map, the sites and tourist offices will allow the “Jacques Cœur” road to continue its efforts in accessibility for people with disabilities
